Most of the LOVELLS' were born in and around the North West coast of Tasmania,  although some did stay around Hobart after arriving there as migrants. From  Ireland and England they started to arrive in Tasmania in the early 1800's.  Most came of their own free will but a few were convicts who had been  transported from Ireland and England.Early Settlers in Montagu were Mary(Mulreany)and  Patrick Ennis and the Williams families.
 The Lovells' were Pioneer Settlers who took whatever work was available.  Joseph, Thomas, and Henry and their families were three of the LOVELL  generation who made their homes in Tasmania.Henry LOVELL and his son Henry  'Harry' LOVELL spent some time around Somerset formerly called (Cam) near the  mouth of the Cam River,where the home still stands today and is heritage  listed. Henry married Rachel Louisa WILLIAMS at Horton, Tasmania in 1885. As a widower, Henry  married Sarah Clarke at Somerset. They had a  daughter, Mavis Victoria (Lovell) McCullagh,b.1921.
 Henry "Harry" LOVELL came to Victoria as a young man about 1913 and settled  around the Cockatoo and Gembrook area, where he met and married Margaret Mary  BELL who was the daughter of John James BELL and Annie (HOWARD) BELL. Harry was a potato farmer for many years around the district.   Other names connected to this LOVELL family are :BELL, MULREANEY, ENNIS, WILLIAMS,  KENDALL, KIRKPATRICK, WARNER,NYE and AHERN. 
 This web Site starts off with the LOVELL family and will be added to  from time to time with further family links and hopefully some family photos. Margaret Mary BELL came from a large family of Scottish migrants. They came to Australia in 1883 on the ship 'LUSITANIA' and first lived in Maldon, Victoria until the gold mining started to take a down turn.  They went to live at Gembrook in the late 1880's where they worked as  saw millers and timber cutters with a bit of gold digging as well. Some of  the family were born and  married in Gembrook and Cockatoo.
 The KIRKPATRICK family were well known in the Gembrook area also.One of the  KIRKPATRICKS'married James Eadie BELL who was the son of John James BELL.  Altogether these families were rather prolific people and many articles have  been written about them in local history books over the years. About the NYE and WARNER family who were well known as Orchardist's in the  Pakenham and Pakenham Upper areas. 
 The NYES' also had a nursery at one stage around the Tynong area. James NYE  was one of the Pioneer selectors of land in the 1880's. This property was  situated towards Garfield North.
 WARNER. Charles and Mary WARNER emigrated from Scotland to 'Brinkwater'in the  year 1857 on the ship 'CARLETON ' They were accompanied by their children  Euphemia(15 yrs)Catherine(13yrs)Helen(11yrs)and Andrew Brydie(10 months). Charles, Mary, Helen and Andrew went to 'Brinkwater' where Charles worked for  a Mr John Little for 6 months.Euphemia went as a nurse maid. The WARNERS' were  Methodists.
 NYE. Alexander and Maria NYE with son James (7yrs) emigrated from Sussex,  England to Australia on the Ship 'ATLANTA' and arrived in Geelong on 19-6-1858. On board the same ship were Henry NYE (20 yrs) a groomsman, and Mary NYE (18  years) a domestic worker.  
 The NYE'S were Presbyterians.

The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
